While working for Broadway Malyan, one of the major project I was involved with, was creating a new set of brand guidelines, after a major brand refresh. A lot of the brands complexity had been cut down and simplified. As a result of this a complete paper based brand guide was made redundant, with a digital brand hub being created to take its place.
Although a digital version of the brand guides was created, there was still essential need for a downloadable offline version. This was to assist less technologically progressive staff members as well as facilitate guides for use in areas without an internet connection, eg while traveling by plane.
These cut down brand guides were referred to as cheat sheets and gave an overview of the essential areas of the brand and how to use its elements. Included alongside the brand basic guides were easy to use guides for how to use the corporate templates, which enabled staff members to create brand accurate documentation.
